Default Another which .44 mag thread

Thinking about taking my recently acquired 28-2 to gun show this weekend and try to trade up to a 29 or 629.
I already have a 6" 629, and I'm trying to decide if I want a 3" or a 4"
I have a 3" 686p , and like the balance and shoot it well, but thinking 3" might be short for .44. And with the larger frame the 4" might balance about the same as my 686p.

Any thoughts from those that shoot both?
And I do shoot magnums, there are no .44 special rounds to be found around here.
Thanks
