Would any of you have real-world experience with the Pachmayr Diamond Pro grips on S&W J Frame sized 38 spcl snubbies? I like the design how they cover the grip backstrap (which on the exposed factory grips seems like a major contributor to recoil smack) and that they are a tad thicker, but wondering if the extra finger extension (so you can get 3 fingers on vs 2 with factory grips) seriously degrades its concealability. Does the Pachmayr Diamond Pro reduce felt recoil a fair amount and does the extra grip width/length aid in accuracy? I just ordered a Fobus paddle holster for mine, and that plus dropped into coat pockets are probably how I'll carry it in winter/fall and will get an IWB one for summer.

They are a bit lumpier but still OK. I've carried the 3" J on my belt without issues, as well as the 686SSR. Certainly not as compact as the 438 I usually carry.

Thanks for your reply. How do they affect recoil? Does it reduce felt recoil noticeably?

The Diamond Pro is a Decent Grip. A little thicker lower in the grip.

I prefer the Pachmayr Compac Grip. Fits my hand a little better.

There is a significant reduction in felt recoil, especially with 357s. Any J is still going to jump around a bit.

I think this is just what you need....

Pachmayr Pocket Carry at it's finest....

2K7 - I've never seen that ... ummm ... contraption before. I hope it's functional cause it sure ain't purty ... ;)

Pachmayr Diamond Pros

They have plenty of cushion in them & can easily handle full loads, as long as you can hang on. I use them exclusively for practice at the range.
