"Shorty" & "Stretch"... the M629 Stainless Pair...
True one is an M629-3 and the other an M629-5... But both are Full Lugged Exhibits and I think they complement each other very well. The 6.5" barreled N frame is actually an M629-3,
"DX Classic" and the 3" barreled N frame is an M629-5 "Mountain Back Packer"... With matching Smith OEM "90's Combat" Pau Ferro wood, a.k.a. (Morado Wood) Grips... they actually handle and pick-up from a flat table position in the hand similarly really well too with uncanny familiarity. But "Shorty" has the edge for CCW and balance for sure... while "Stretch" really shines in the point-ability department while drawing down at distant range and handles recoil slightly better as well. Both shoot and handle the big 300gr and 305gr ammo as well as the lighter 240 loaded stuff equally nice too! I got home in time just enough to take one quick pic while the sun was still out. I'll take more pics in the near future and add them to this thread! Anyways, I hope you enjoy the pic and comparison of my Stainless Steel full lugged N frames!

Beautiful guns, but I prefer those with a half-lug barrel/tapered ejector rod housing.

Yes, with your screen name I wouldn't expect anything else!
And I've seen some pics of your lovely half-lugs as of recent and they are lovely for sure!

S & S
Nice.
I really like that "Mountain Backpacker".
Reminds me of my S&W Model 696-1 44Rem Spl.
only a little bigger Frame.
Mountain Guns forever!

A 5" is probably the perfect size barrel... and the most rare version unfortunately! But they are out there...

Good looking pair Hammy. How's the DX shooting for ya? Looking forward to some good close-ups.

I shot her at my my club/range @ 25meters a couple days before I left for vacation to blow off some steam and she did really well. The Single Action trigger pull is darn nice, maybe the nicest of my N frames... the double is nicer than I thought initially. I really don't believe she was shot much previously considering how tight the crane area and locking bolt is and when closing the cylinder/opening the cylinder and pressing the thumb cylinder release takes effort. I'm hoping that will loosen up with some time. She does have more cylinder side to side "wink" than I'd like on an NOS gun though. After I get her to the long range... see how she shoots in a match... then I'll decide whether I'll install the Power Customs "oversized" cylinder stop or just to leave well enough alone. I know a touch of "wink" is desireable and understandably so. But this one has more than any other Revo I've ever had. I'd like your opinion and SW282's after you both get a chance to inspect her!

Hate to hijack but Wow, I did not know that 12 inch extreme hunter existed. I’ll bet that thing is a pleasure to shoot at long distances. I’m thinking of steel plates anywhere from 100 to 200 yards.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Very cool, thanks for sharing:

Nice pair Nathan... I have the Comp 629's twin in a 657 41Magnum.
Without measuring the removable brake/compensator my barrel
is 6 1/2 inches...
Always wanted a 12'' 629 EXTREME HUNTER... l know it would do
very well in IHMSA Big Bore silhouettes... ESP on those 200meter Rams!!
ps..Just got a snubby 3'' 629-5 in a trade. Unfluted cyl. Full lug barrel. Some
refer to them as 3''Hunters.. Thing is an absolute BRICK... Points like one too..
Weighs a FULL half pound MORE than my 4'' 625 Mountain Gun.. Mt Gun points like
part of my hand

I've got some time off today since we don't have child care lined up for this afternoon. So I'll get some more close one's off the back porch later Vette! Feel free to post some more pics of the Lew Horton with the Culina's, both pairs of Culina's in this thread too!
It's official, the M24 Lew Horton that I won the bid of GB after 2 years of looking... along with the OEM Smith M24 thumb scabbard holster I sourced from a great member, "Shark-Bait" here... it's become my favorite Suburban CCW and "Wood-Gun" and rig. They don't make holsters like this a lot anymore. I'll post pics of the gun/rig later in here as well!
This gun loves the 200grain CCI's topped with Gold Dot "Flyin' Ashtray's" and even the hotter loaded Underwood 200grain, Nickel Coated Brass Cased version/same Flying Ashtrays
Favorite CCW Gun, LHS M-24... ("Shorty" is still/now a solid 2nd favorite CCW/rig with the DeSantis),
Pic of OEM Holster sold with original Lew Horton Special M24's...
Body/Skin Side... Thanks again "Shark-Bait"... you're a solid Forum Member!
OWB Side...
This will have to do for now... Neighbors Outside on both sides of us...
Woods-Load-out below. Backed up by wife and her M642 with 158gr Hard Cast Pills @ 925fps.

@The Norseman
Nice pair of Revo's Norseman!
I looked and looked for an M696-1 and any other Pre-Lock 696 for a year to no avail. I'd still love to have one as L frames are fantastic!

Fellas... I totally deserve to be in timeout and honestly am not ashamed to admit it... I appreciate the "wifey" putting a halt to my "sickness" inspired spending spree... I think I was subconsciously thinking the 2020 Election will be something reminiscent of the 08' Election and wanted to get everything before a possible "Panic". So far in 19' alone...
(2) Custom AR-15's
(1) CZ Scorpion
(3) "N" frames, an (M629-3 "DX" Classic), an (M24-3 Lew Horton Special), & an (M629-5 "Mountain Back Packer")
(1) "J" frame (M642)
(1) Vortex "Strike-Eagle" High-Powered Scope for my 16-inch "Recce" AR-15 for long gunning/hunting (nice piece of glass)
(2) Vortex (3x magnification Spitfire) RedDot Scopes
(2) 10.3" barrels and 2 stripped "Pistol" AR Receivers...
& somewhere between;
5000-6000 rounds of .44Spec, .44Mag, 9mm, .45ACP, .223 & 5.56 ammo cumulatively... I'm happily on "Lock-Down" until 1/1/20 and am just happy she puts up with me enough already!
