Default Model 25 Family

The only 2 model 25's I have, both in 8 3/8" long pipes and .45 Colt.

Nickle: 25-5, older one with pin barrel: I've never fired or intend to fire this one, put up for investment and to pull out once in a while just to slobber over it. Yes, it belongs in the other pin barrel age group, but how can I divorce the cousin to this group?

Blue: 25-9, newer model, no pin, but built years before the key locks. Sighted at 25 yards on sand bags. May be the sweetest big caliber piece I have besides those 624's in .44 Special. The bluing is so polished, a work of art.

Next of kin 625-2, Model of 1988. Bowling pin gun?? Bought this as a curiosity and load .45 auto Rim for it. Shockingly accurate.

Lastly, 625-7 Mountain Gun in .45 Colt. Maybe not as accurate in my hand as the above, but so much fun to shoot and not too bad to carry in dangerous game country.

Y'all take care, Bo in western NC

You have some fine shooting iron there

What could be better than an N-frame in 45 LC?

All of mine have shorter barrels

My 25-5 4" in 45 colt is all alone. I do have 1/2 dozen 45 acp cousins, although not all Colts, and not all revolvers. A 45 of either persuasion is real comforting to have around.

Sorry for the ****** photo. It deserves better, & I'm going to work on it.

Ok, same model 25, better photo.

Beautiful guns here. There's something about big bore revolvers.

I have a few in my pile but only one in .45 Colt, a 25-9. Here's a photo along with it's .45 ACP relatives.

Thank you.

I have only one 45 long Colt S&W, a 25-5. Got a few of the ACP variety.

I love .45 N-frame guns, whether they be .45 ACP or .45 C (or both). I had been holding off posting in this thread because I didn't want to steal the OP's thunder, but it seems that ship has sailed, so here are mine...

And while not a 25, this 22-4 is showing up at my dealer's today (according to the USPS)...

There is nothing like a big bore N-frame.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

I love shooting the old obsolete caliber. My Model 25-2 had such oversized cylinder throats that I bought a .44 Magnum cylinder for it and had it chambered in .45 Colt. It's one of my favorites. Also like to shoot my Model 625 and Model 25 Mountain Gun in .45 Colt along with the 625s in .45 ACP. The only thing that beats a .45 caliber N Frame is two .45 caliber N Frames.

That is a 625-8 PC, 4" barrel. I did a bit of light customization, swapping out the hideous laminated grips for a set of VZs. Also not being a fan of the two toned look I swapped out the screws, thumb piece and extractor rod for stainless ones.

Does the 25-13 mg fire both 45acp and 45colt?
