Help on finding year my .460 S&W was made
I would really like to know what year my .460 S&W was made. My brother has the NRA edition .460 (2007 was the year for those), but I have no clue about my .460 S&W 8.38" barrel. I did buy it back in the summer of 2016, but who knows how long it was sitting at Cabela's when I bought it. Serial # is CZM5819. Thanks!

The #4 bible came out in 2016, so the last triple alpha codes are listed from 2015. CZX is listed as the last one for 2015, so I'd guess your's is a 2016. Do you have the box for it?

Yes I do have the original case that it came in. What do you need from it? I am the original owner of it. I was just curious on the year of it, and seems like it is a late 2015-2016 gun according to you!!

There will be a date code on the label, which is thought to be when it was packed and ready to ship. Likely a six digit number, in your 'case' probably ending in the number 15 or 16.

If you got the complete set of case contents, there should also be the case of a fired cartridge in a manila envelope with a tester's signature and a test date on it.

With the last two posts, you can see why they said wise men, and not man...

Yep I bought this gun brand new, and it did come with the test round, but not sure where I put it. I did find the 6 digit code tho, it is made in 2016. As the code ends in 16.

Found the 6 digit number, and it ended in 16. So my gun is a 2016 model, good to know!! I did not know it was that easy to find out the year of it, just by the end of the 2 numbers!! I love this group, so helpful!! So I assume even new 629's have the same type of 6 digit numbers, to find out the year? Thanks!!
