Default Magnaported 60-10

Hello everyone!

I realized i had not shared one of my more "rare" guns with you guys so I thought i would post it up in case anyone was interested. I was at a gun show a couple years ago when i discovered this model 60. It was unusual to see a prelock 60 with a 3 inch barrel so it caught my eye. The gun has been mag-na-ported but seemed to be unfired. Unfortunately he didnt have the original box. I had a hunch that these may be part of one of lew hortons special runs but i wasn't sure. I paid $450 and was on my way. After a call with Earl, he was able to provide me a letter confirming that this was in fact one of their guns and 100% original. This is one of 122 3" model 60s that were mag-na-ported with rosewood grips shipped in 1996. even with the porting, it sure is a handful to control with full power 357s, but i love it.

So how is it to fire with a full power load from a retention position?

I do not think we can call shooting 357Magnum from any J-frame "pleasant" but the LITLE 3" revolver handles the full power Magnum ammunition just fine

You know how Urban Legends and Internet Myths are, once they get legs the stories just never go away

No you do not get blinded when shooting at night, no there is no face full of debris if you shoot from retention, no it will not deafen you, etc. etc.

Shoot my non ported 60-10 with factory 158 gr at about 1/3 of the time.
It is not as bad as you would imagine. Not as pleasant as 38 or 38+P, but it is tolerable enough that I trail carry it loaded with 357.

It's just fine if you wear an asbestos shirt.
