Boone Trading Co or Eagle Grips for Simulated Ivory

I want to add some simulated ivory grips to several of my revolvers, mostly they are 8 3/8” guns. I was looking at the Sledge Hammer grips from Eagle and the Oversized Finger grooved grips from Boone Trading.
I would appreciate any input on either company and grips.

I got faux on my stampede from tru ivory, I dont know of these companies but when the grips were made for mine and being fitted for my gun they are great, my only thought would be fitting and made for your guns.
Tru ivory was a good buy but I think they quit business.

Have never had the opportunity to examine a set of............

......faux ivory from Boone but I do have a set from Eagle that I am 90% sure are synthetic material but not totally convinced of that.

Sent images to the boss at Eagle. He was not sure.

They look and feel like tooth. Have not done the hot pin.

Personally I dont like simulated ivory although I have bought a pair or two. I have never seen a pair that looked authentic and kept getting the feeling that it was fake. Go with stag horn or bone. Still gives you the warm fuzzies.
 
Bar S 'Tru-Ivory' grips were the best and actually look like genuine ivory. Midway USA used to carry them, the 2nd best were Eagle 'Ultra Ivory'. Neither are made any longer. Both have a grain which simulates real ivory and much more realistic than any of the bonded ivory, polymer ivory, or Eagle 'Kirinite'.

The absolute best available is resin ivory used in the musical instrument industry. It even has grain and Shreger lines (grain) of genuine ivory.

They sell grip blanks but only 1911 completed grips.

Have you looked at camel or giraffe bone? Here’s a set of giraffe bone on my DW ECO. I think they’re much nicer than faux ivory and they actually came from a critter, not a test tube.

I like my faux Ivory grips from Eagle. They're a local company (western suburbs of Chicago) and really nice folks. The attached photo is my Colt Officers with their grips. I would recommend them.

They used to do real ivory, but Illinois passed a law a couple of years ago that prevented them from continuing. However, if you're not in Illinois, you may want to contact them to see if they can still supply you real ivory grips. They're pricey, as you might expect.
