When Googling 9mm revolvers I stumbled onto a Smith and Wesson "gas" revolver, the 3" Grizzly chambered in 9mm. Looks like it's only available in Europe? Made by a German manufacturer, Umarex?

So I turn to you guys for information. I'm reading it's only for blanks or "tear-forming" cartridges. But it's chambered in 9mm? Where would these tear gas cartridges be made is my first question. And if they're truly in the size of a 9mm round how effective could they really be?

Fun cocktail party conversation for sure. Any helpful information on the S&W Grizzly would be greatly appreciated.

Found this on google:

Replica of the well-known Smith & Wesson Grizzly revolver in the form of a gas (expansion) revolver in cal. 9 mm R Blank (.380 R Blank) from the German company Umarex. The revolver is equipped with a quality and durable blackening of the surface, ergonomic plastic grips, a cylinder with a capacity of 6 rounds and a SA / DA (Single Action / Double Action) trigger system. The package includes a plastic case and an extension for firing signal ammunition (flares). The weapon can be used with alarm cartridges, e.g. as a starter and with tear-forming rounds as well as a means of defense against attacking people or animals. With the help of tear-forming charges, it is possible to defend at a distance of 3 to 5 meters.
