Take a look at the 14-5 I just picked up. Its a nickel 8 3/8 with a factory red insert front sight. No full underlug either, I think I may have to letter this one and find out more about it. Anyone familiar with a 1990 production mdl 14 in this configuration??

Sorry the lighting is so awful, I blew a bulb as I was setting up.

They made a 12 gun set back in the 90s.
One of the guns was an 8 3/8th Nickel 14 with the post front site. The 14-5 s came out in 1991 with the underlug.
Looks like you were lucky enough to find one of the "over runs" that didn't go into the set or a special order gun.
Very nice catch. I would personally get it lettered.

Way back, cant guess what year, I bought a new in the box at a gunstore, nickle 6" model 14. I told mrs Jack First they werent cataloged. She found I was right. You could see that "14" was stamped over "15" on the frame.
