RETRO Banana Grips on a K-frame...Any PICS You Can Post??
Hey all.
In my seemingly endless search for grips I came upon some pics of grips I don’t think I have seen before. At first glance I thought they were just the same as the factory MAGNA grips like what came on my 3-inch 65. After looking at them closer, they’re not the same. The 2 examples I saw were on the Ahrends website and boy they are gorgeous, especially the light, blonde wood set.
Anyway, I wondered what they’d look like on a pistol with a 3 inch barrel and whether they’d look like they were too big or bulky. So, I thought I’d ask you fellas for your input....once again.
If anyone has a set of these Banana grips, or RETRO Banana grips on your k-frame, please post some pics, I’d like to see how they look.
Thank you all once again. I really appreciate you all taking your time to help and offer advice. It’s the main reason I love this site. Everyone is so eager and happy to help others. No ego stuff or piling on at all. Not many places like this left.
Have a great weekend and stay safe.
Larry

Mod. 66-5, 2.5" with factory "banana" grips. They feel very good and are very comfortable when shooting "full house" .357 loads.

I realize this is an older post, here's some assorted Ahrend's Retro Banana grips on 3" K and L frames:
Sadly, Ahrends is out of business, But before he closed up, I ordered a bunch of stuff, without finish.
I applied tung oil for a finish. The 686 CS-1 is maple, that I roasted in the oven then applied many coats of tung oil.
They all came without medallions. I put those on myself.

My 66-1. It is a former SO issue and came with a set of Pachmayr grips. I think that these round butt “banana” targets are perfect for it.
