I noticed this evening that the .41 mag mountain gun I purchased yesterday does not have a RR front sight or WO rear sight. Is this normal for the series of mountain guns?

Normal. Much better set up for most shooting, at least in my opinion. Black on black sights with serrated front have always been my preference.
