Does my custom Marlin 1895 count? It is leaning against my grill.

This is the one I would take, if a BBQ invite ever presented itself.
It's a 4-screw M28, that shipped the same year, as me (1959). It's nothing fancy, has no numbered grips, nor box, papers, etc. The elk stags, with adapter fit my hand perfectly. I've done some minor work on the internals, and feel a specila attachment to this one.

This 686-6 PC would be the one I'd take to a BBQ, or even to a wienee-roast.

I've been to a lot of BBQ's and even more crawfish boils and don't ever recall seeing anybody open carrying anything other than a beer .

Folks around here have some very high-end art (firearms and accoutrements). I've been collecting handguns coming up on 20 years...which is nothing in this esteemed group.
My simple take is twofold:
a) traditional definition of engraved, classic handguns, custom leather, custom gun (at times), special belt buckle, custom hand-tooled belt with custom stocks;
b) any gun your proud to show off, where legal, could be as simple as a change to stocks and an off-the-counter belt w/ holster.
The nicest you care to share with the public and I think both are equally cool. Best, TH.

I always appreciate the effort it takes to own & maintain a BBA Gun but never owned one. They’re too pricey for my meager budget and my tiny collection all have a job & go to the range. My three faves are a 4” Model 63, a 4” LNIB 1973 Model 66 & Model 10 square butt snub.

I just want to live someplace in this day and age where you are expected to have a firearm on your hip at a barbecue. I have plenty of friends where that would be the norm to come with a gun on your hip. But i wish i could live some place where it was ALWAYS the norm.
I live a lot out in WY and MT. I go 4 wheeling with a group of guys. It is basically expected to have a chest rig on of some type with a 357, 44 mag or 10mm. But i wish it was more common.

I need a holster for my M27 3 1/2 gun so I can take it to a BBQ. All I have found are holsters for 4 inch guns and I have 3 of those.

Agee…very close!
If you are referring to the 1904 nickel cattlebrand, you are very close…engraving by David Harris protege of Weldon Bledsoe. And the gorgeous Walnut grips are by Paul Persinger…she’s all Texas. WildBill

That engraving certainly looks like the work of Cole Agee. Do you have any history of that revolver?
BTW, beautiful.[/QUOTE]

As a Director I was eligible to buy this KIMBER 1911 from TEXAS & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Assoc. for 150th anniversary. There were 40 made. I picked # 33 because that is my broker number. You got to put your cattle brand ( S for Sleeper registered 1871 in McLennan County TEXAS) on the grips and slide.
These grips were the last LEGAL Elephant IVORY available in USA.

I am moving more pictures of the TSCRA KIMBER and it's holster to the "OTHER GUNS" page because it is not a S&W revolver.
Thank you all for your likes!
