Default A red dot on a S&W 686 :

Hello Everyone ! A week ago I purchased my first S&W 686-6 ! And because I am used to shooting with red-dots I wanted to adapt a Chromed RMSc footprint red dot on the revolver.

In searching on the Web I found out that different brands such as Allchin, EGW, Jpoint, Raptor Engineering and Leupold were making adapters.

After thinking a little bit about what I need, I have decided to turn myself to low profile adapters such as the ones made by
Jpoint JPA-SWR :

Leupold DELTAPOINT PRO MOUNT, S&W CLASSIC:

Raptor Engineering :

This photo is from this thread :Red dotting a S&W K/L/N/X frame

The ones that has attracted my interest the most are the Raptor Engineering manufactured. They seem to have a lower profile than the Allchin ones. Unfortunately it seems on their website that their plant closed due to fire in the region in 2020. Do you know if there is still a way to buy some Raptor adapters ? Or if some members are selling these parts sometimes ? Btw are they even RMSc adapters ? From this company I only saw some Docter footprint compatible adapter on the web ...

Otherwise do you have some feedback on the Jpoint and Leupold low profile adapters ?

What about EGW ? Are they Low Profile ? Are they long enough to cover the screw holes over the revolver when the original iron sight is removed (I’m a bit scared that It would look bizarre if it left a long rectangular hole on the top of the revolver …)?

Thank you very much for your answers,
Take care,

Nico.
