Is there a site or chart somewhere that I can keep in my phone that shows every S&W revolver model, the frame designation, calibers, finish available, etc?

I looked on the forum prior to posting this but couldn’t locate anything, and googled it as well but nothing helpful come up.

If you mean past and present, not to my knowledge. That would be a monumental task, like turning the SCSW book into a database or something like that.

Exactly what I was thinking, something for all past and current. Might be something I try to build in my free time. Would be nice to have a S&W app that could be sorted by date, model, frame, caliber, finish, etc.

I'd suggest buying the SCSW and making your own chart. Should keep you busy for a year or two. I hope you have sufficient cloud storage on your phone.

I have a SCSW but don’t want to lug it around everywhere I go, was hoping for a condensed down and dirty chart or spreadsheet. I will build something

For now, maybe the Kindle version?

Lucky Gunner put a chart together a while back on 1957 and later revolvers- I hope this helps a bit… https://www.luckygunner.com/lounge/guide-sw-38-357-revolvers/

The last three links are excellent references!!!

Than you!

I remember seeing a chart back in the 1980's but it would obviously be way way out of date now even if found. Since then I don' recall seeing one. While I don't know every single model and variation ever made, I know at least all of the common, mainstream and models produced that have had longevity. That covers it 99% of the time for me, but as you get in to this hobby you will be surprised how much you retain. For all else, I can't tell you how useful the SCSW has been over the years! I keep a copy right behind my desk at arms reach in my office.

I have two copies of SCSW, 4th. One nice one I keep at home and another dog eared copy with duct tape holding the covers together that I throw in my pubs case for gun shows.
