Welcome to the Forum! According to the "SCSW 4th Ed.", your 642-1, s/n CEU 8270, was manufactured in 2001. Attach a photo if you can...Forum members love pictures! The Model 642 was first introduced in 1990, and the 642-1 began in 1996. Yours does not have the internal key lock system which makes it more desirable than my 642-2 (introduced in 2002) and later models. The 642s are great little revolvers, and the 642-2 is one of my EDC revolvers. Enjoy!
