I like mine. It is my only IL gun. I am not a fan of the IL's but I wanted this setup. On mine the IL is no longer an issue.

I have TK moon clips for it but I think I actually prefer a speed loader. For my .38 Special reloads, I have never sorted brass. I just load them up and fill up a plastic jug full and go to the range. I have found that the moon clips can be finicky w different makes of brass. With TK you can actually order clips for specific brass.

I have a Holosun set up for it but my shooting buddy is color blind and does not see the dot well. So now I added a gold bead front sight and I am running it with the iron sights.

I like mine also. For some reason, right from the factory, it is one of the most accurate revolvers I have owned. I too, wish the IL were not there but in 10 years it has never malfunctioned and I never got around to changing it.
I use moon clips which take some practice. It is hard to get all 8 rounds to line up and drop in, esp with LSWC rounds. JHP bullets don't "catch" on the edge of the cylinder mouth as much.
A full cylinder along with a couple of full moon clips can be very comforting.

Love mine. Carried it often as a duty gun, and off-duty as well. Weighs less than my 6-shot L-frames. Moon clips do not load as easily as those in .45 ACP; gotta line up eight holes instead of six, and the extra length also makes it trickier. As noted above, not all makes of .357 cases play well with all makes of clips. Still, a superb gun. I have a progressive press set up to load .38+P, and components are more available and less expensive than many other self-defense rounds. I have to reload in order to shoot, so also appreciate that brass falls at your feet instead of being flung hither and yon. Stainless steel, so easy to clean; Firesight up front, which aging eyeballs appreciate. And the comfort provided by revolver reliability coupled with two or three extra rounds. Yes, you must buy this gun. If you don't your wife will leave you, your dog will ignore you, your boss will fire you, and your friends - especially us here - will shun you.

Maybe Venom6 wants his wife to leave him...

Seriously, I ordered this gun sight unseen 5 years ago, having asked my LGS to order either this Pro model or the 5" PC revolver (unavailable). I opened the box on arrival 3 days later and I still haven't recovered. It is a magnificent revolver and the finest handgun I own.

Caveat emptor. My gun goes back 5 years. There have been 2 recent posts on this forum where purchasers of this 4" Pro model have had to return their guns to the plant for mfg'g flaws. Altho you can't see everything in the LGS, give it a once-over.

I wonder what the balance is on the 4" gun. I had the slab sided 5" PC gun and didn't like it.
Anybody have both of those 627s? The 4 and 5"?

Hey Lou! Not a fan of RB grip frames on large frame or long bbl guns. The OED Hogues approximate a SB and as a result the gun balances well. Appreciate your info on the 5" PC; now I can stop looking. PM me if you need more. Kaaskop49
