Just picked up a no-lock 642-1 last week, brand new from my dealer/buddy shop.

Trigger pull never felt quite right, out of the box, as it stacked up with repeated pulls, and soon reached the point where pulling the trigger with the pad of my right index finger was almost impossible.

Called Smith and Wesson just a few minutes ago.

"Awesome customer service" is something I've heard here many many times, I'm less than impressed.

I'd like the first person answering the telephone to provide a name, is that too much to ask?

"Hello, welcome to Smith and Wesson, this is the operator".

Me..."Hello, this is Matthew XXX from Prescott, Arizona, who am I speaking to?"

Her...."This is the operator"

Me....."Hello, Operator....I'm experiencing troubles with the trigger pull on my new 642-1, which I purchased new last week".

Click.....I'm on hold.

On hold for several minutes, no big deal.

Now, this "customer service guy" who gets on the phone is quite rude and to the point with me....I immediately felt like I did something wrong with this unfired/purchased brand new last week revolver.

He told me to "open the cylinder and pull the trigger".....I did just that, and nothing happened.

"Well, (stoopit azz) you have to push the cylinder latch to the rear first".....

Smith and Wesson will send out a label, so's I can return this little revolver to the mothership for repair.

Where is this wonderful "feel good" customer service that I've read so much about??

I'm less than enamoured.

All other work at S&W has temporarily been halted while they devote all of their resources to repairing my 325 TRR.

I certainly hope that is the case.

I don't expect much out of human beings these days, but I'd like to be treated just a little bit better than I was today.

(Is it too much to ask that I be treated with the same respect that I give to those who answer the telephone?)
