New S&W model 20?
Have you all seen this?
Smith & Wesson Model 20
Limited Edition - 357 Mag
6 Rd Capacity, DA
Wood Grip, Black Finish
$1549.99
$1282
I have not heard of this limited edition and really like the classic looks. Except for the lock!

I asked for this several years ago after I bought my 21-4TR & 22-4TR and they weren’t interested. Too late for me, I’m beyond my peak earning years now...

Not sure why they call it a Model 20? I thought that was chambered in 38 S&W Special.
What was the revolver refused by the New York State Troopers? The Model 520?

Yes, that's the one. The Model 520 was basically a fixed sight M28.

Well...at least they are trying to appease the revolver market? Internal lock...nasty "sights"...and the price of a new Python. Pass..

More precisely, I think you will find it was an updated Heavy Duty (M20) in .357.

I think they are over runs from the Davidsons special order. There’s a few on the big site. Asking way too much for my interest.

I have both an HD and a 520. Kind of interested. Price is a bit high but not totally out of line for today’s market.

I like it better as a "model 20" than trimmed up as a Texas Ranger commemorative. If I didn't have HDs I might buy one. Hope they're successful though and that leads S&W to build a few more N frame revolvers.

I wish them luck with it. Unless the price comes down more than a tad I am unlikely to bite.

Price is in line with the Thunder Ranch and similar guns. Expensive item, limited production run.

This is a Davidson Exclusive
https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/heavy-duty-n-frame-357-magnum-revolver
I am unsure whether S&W's $75 rebate is applicable for this or not.

Ordered one. It’s basically Python money and I have two of those. Will make a nice trifecta with my HD and the 520.
Hopefully see it end of next week.

I like it but being an old fogey I can’t get past the lock on classic style guns. I’ve got several Smith’s with the lock, 3 X frames and a few others. But none are of the classic style. I know most new gun buyers either like it or don’t care one way or the other.

It sure looks purty, except for the you know what. Too bad I'm not in the market.

New with box with all trimmings for 2300.00 does that sound about right? There about 10 on big site with no action for more than that

That's what it does look like, but the Letter I have for my 520 says what Doug posted.

This new ltd ed. Davidson Exclusive is a "window dressing" gun, AFAIC. The original .38/44 was a 5 screw gun, but S&W only added the top side plate screw on this version, which isn't even an accurate 4-screw. No pinned barrel, and Altamont laminated grips (but they DID put a diamond in them ). I guess I'm just a nitpicker, but if they're going to bend you over for that price, they ought to make it a bonafide reproduction. Originals are worth upper 4 figures in good condition
