Grip question...
A somewhat local 586 is up for sale, and it has some grips that I'm not familiar with. They look like they could be factory, but have never seen them before. I have contacted the seller and am waiting for a reply.

The right panel appears to be a factory Target stock with the checkering smoothed out and a mini LE badge inletted into it.

I guess what got me thinking was that the border is still well defined, guess it could have been re cut.

If the one picture shown is indeed the 586 in question… I would be excited to see more, because it is a very, very, VERY early example of the 586.

Wow! You tell that when all you can see is about 1" of the sideplate between the grips and the holster? How? By the oversized cartouche?

Very few early 586s had the large right sideplate logo.

HA! You made me look! Nothing on the right!
That one came with Pachmayrs on it. I like the Magnas with the Tyler T better!

So - what does the Left Grip look like?
And it looks like there’s writing on that embedded Badge.
Interesting piece!
You definitely need to check it out !

Precisely. And while I am not certain… I can say that every single time I’ve seen the large emblem on the side plate of an L-frame, the original box was also the old school two-piece type.
I believe it’s not well known that the earliest of the L-frames came this way.

If you l@@k for early "L" frames, the right side logo is the give-away
That and a "AAA" prefix
Friend has a 6" no-dash too. Trying to keep a little $$ aside so I'm ready when he is

Never heard back from the seller, but the ad is gone from the classifieds.
