37-2 with no roll marks???
Long time lurker, first time posting.
Need opinions on this J frame 37-2 here. I read in the big book that the -2 removed the Airweight roll mark from the barrel in 93 so I assumed this must be one of those. Long story short I bid and won it in auction recently. Upon going back and looking at the pictures I realized that it doesn’t have a single roll mark on the outside of the frame. Now I’m wondering what the heck I just bought. Dot matrix serial with BUH prefix.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dunno, but my first thought is that the side plate may have been replaced.

Looks like a nice revolver. Any chance it's been customized? Looks like a bead blasted 37 with a 60 bbl. Think those are Ladysmith grips. Maybe someone attempted a lightweight version of a model 60 Ladysmith. Either way,I do like it! Congrats on your find - Bill in MA

Kind of what I was thinking at first with regards to the side plate but then there should still be a Springfield Mass our Made in USA type stamping on the corner in front of the trigger guard. All of my other Smiths have something there. I did find that the BUH prefix dates it 1995 according to the catalog.

Looks like a nice satin Nickel 37-2 to me. The factory probably just neglected to stamp the frame. Stuff happens!
