The two foot fireball that a 500 makes would be spectacular in the 500J.

A model 60 is to small for 357 magnum ammo. That's why they made the 686 to handle the 357 mag. will most people use low recoil 38 special ammo in there M60 ? or is a M60 500 magnum just to sell more guns, but it is neat..or just something to have in your collection, and never shoot it..

Best make that first shot count, recoil is going to have that barrel pointing skyward for the next one.

Finally, something big enough, and powerful enough for a no doubts it'll get the job done CCW piece.
Do we think it's pocket friendly? I love pocket carry...

Well, now that it is the 2nd.. Anyone have a 500 cartridge they can lay by a J frame in a pic to see how ridiculous this would be?

Yes, but it carries/conceals so easily.

In a J frame, the 500 would be a two shot. That's all the room you would have for the cartridges, plus no one would want to shoot it a second time anyway.

Come to think about it, maybe an L-frame would be a better idea?

Unfortunately a .50 BMG is not a .500 S&W magnum. The .500 is a baby compared to it.

I thought at first that this had to be a joke, but evidently not. However, they missed the boat by not making it in a scandium frame and a titanium cylinder. The perfect lightweight carry revolver and easily manageable (yea right). Who are advising these guys on new handguns? I guess someone who thought that the biggest J frame Smith in history was a good idea. Why not an 8 shot L Frame .357 stainless with a four inch barrel, adjustable sites, an unfluted cylinder, and no useless lock? Oh, I forgot; they will never do away with the lock.

No reviews yet about not being recoil sensitive and the blast not being too bad?
