Default N frame RB combat grips screw question

Hi, does combat grips use a special screw length? Anyone can provide dimensions on the screw please. Trying to replace a misplaced combat screw :-(

Thank you.

You could take the stocks to a good hardware store and fid 1 that works. I've had to shorten before and made the head smaller in my drill press. {since you don't knowthe size} Posting pics would get you replies. Good luck on your quest! Bob

Are they factory stocks? Then call S&W customer Service and tell them what you need. 800-331-0852 They will need the gun model number and serial number

Be aware that that if they are not S&W manufactured stocks that S&W has used stocks from several makers on factory guns. Just saying they are combats is not enough information, then you need to determine what company made them. Are they rubber or wood? They could be Uncle Mikes, Pachmayr, Hogue, Badger or others. You may need to contact the maker of the stocks.

For hardware stores try Ace first, they usually have a selection of "gun screws". Except for S&W where the common stock screws for their wood stocks are a 5x44, many other makers simply use a 6x32, which will be easy at Ace. They will not have 5x44 screws though.

Assume you mean S&W combats with silver inserts. Checked one of mine at it is about 1/4 inch shorter than a K target and also shorter than a K PC set. So I think about any S&W screw would work if your willing to shorten it. They are deeply set in.

Have you place an add looking to buy in the accessories for sale section ? Maybe someone can hook you up. Just a random thought.

I have not but thank you for the suggestion tho. It appears the screw for combats are hard to find and not many knows the exact details on it. Probably have to custom make one.
