Default 617-6

I finally got a picture taken of my 617-6 with the updates I had done. I have really enjoyed the 10 shot revolver, then put the red dot on it, and finally some grips that really fit my hand. Some complain about the newer (with lock) revolvers, but this one has been no problem, and equal to the best accuracy of any of my 17's and Pre 17's.

Red dot is the Burris Fast Fire 11, and the grips were off E-bay which several of you directed me to last year.

Very nice!

I've my 4" 617-6 for about 4 yrs now and LOVE IT. Such a fun gun to shoot and it's gets lots of holster time around our little chicken ranch here for pests and rattlers. 10 rds of 40gr CCI Mini-Mag solids is up to most tasks when out working in the yard.

I have a 617-1 with a red-dot, it's too much fun at the range.

Hello, love your set up, I recently bought a used 617-6 4" and plan a rail and optic in the future. What rail are you using and where to purchase. Thanks in advance, Rich.

I love my 617-6. 6" full-underlug barrel, so it's nose heavy, but I don't mind. Never have found a set of grips that fit my hand better than the original S&W rubbers. What are those grips you bought? Thailand?

I can't remember the rail, (platform) but the red dot is a Burris FF2. It does get bright enough to see in the sunlight. I just wish it was a 6 minute dot instead of a 3 minute dot.

Very nice! All of my Smith & Wesson revolvers now are pre-lock models but in the past I owned a 686 with the lock and I never had a problem with it, the action felt just as nice as my older revolvers.
