I've had a run of good luck lately finding some real nice S&W's. A few weeks back it was a 3" 625, then last week a 629 UDR, and now this week I bought a Model 41. I was looking for some 44 and 45 brass(to feed the new additions) and what did I see in the used case at Cabela's...a 3" 66-5. It came home with me.

Don't care for the model 29/629 eh Aussiecollector!

I am holding out for a 6" prelock 586, or a model 27 at this time. I love the L-Frame, but wish that it (the 586) came with a half lug instead of the full lug. It would look like an L-frame model 29! That is why I am keeping the model 27 as a part of the search. While on the larger N-Frame, it still has the great looks of a model 29 with the half-lug, but in .357mag.

I'm supposed to be selling a few, not buying any!! Since the start of the new year, I sold none and purchased 3.
I'm going broke in a hurry.

Congrats on a nice 66. My -2 thinks it's a silloutte revolver. Try your's out at 25 yds and see what she will do. They are the best revolver S&W has ever produced IMHO.

3'' Model 66, especially the early versions where the upper part of the frame carrying the rear sight joins the ramp which carries the front sight, looking just like one part with different colors. Anyway, I am jealous of any 3'' Model 66 owners. Congrats.

I got a chance to shoot this one today. It was very accurate for a short tube. With mild 38 loads, tons of fun.

Save, save, save most of the time so when the the nice stuff shows up the gun fund is ready. Having an understanding wife helps and as Sportsterguy said, treat her very well.
