Default The Rare Good Deal, a Model 66-1

This is a super deal. Found this 1980 Model 66-1, in very good condition, at Cabelas in fort Mill, SC (just across border from Charlotte, NC). Cabelas is weird sometimes. Often high prices on ordinary used guns and occasional super deals. It is worth checking occasionally.

I live in NC. So, Cabelas ships it, free of charge, to Bass Pro in Concord, NC for pickup.

Very nice! It's good to see that fair prices are still out there occasionally. Often where you least expect them.

Sweet

I have always loved the lines and proportions of the 2 1/2" Model 19/66

When I saw where you were from, I immediately thought "He's sure not talking about Hyatt's or 1. the price would have been $ 300 higher [or more] and 2. when i lived in Rock Hill, SC. there were no good deals at Hyatt's!!
[They sure had a LOT of nice Smiths, though, as well as a whole lot of about every firearm imaginable- as long as your pockets were REAL deep!]
Nice model 66!

Nice buy, at that price I'd have bought it too. I expect that if found at my local Cabelas it would have been priced at twice what you paid. Agree, weird pricing sometimes at Cabelas, usually high retail or more but sometimes a deal squeaks through. Congrats on finding one.

Very nice! That just seems like a “normal” price to me, or maybe a bit high, so I can see how far out of touch I must be when it comes to “Monopoly money” these days. Nevertheless, what a great old revolver. Looks nearly new condition. Congratulations on your pick up of a very desirable Combat Magnum.

There are a few deals at Hyatt. That place operates differently than most places in town. Larry's store is HUGE and very well known. He draws a lot of people who plan to buy one gun. Maybe their first and last gun. People who do not know market prices or "shop around." Basically, buying a gun at Hyatt because that's where their father or grandfather bought guns. So, many pay a high price for modern production guns.

On the other hand, there's a lot on his website or in the "used cabinets." Might be priced high but Larry will deal a bit. Prices are negotiable, if you know to ask or (even better) know Larry. He's a good guy. I hear ya though. It can be steep. Hyatt's not my first stop on the gun store / pawn shop rotation, but I stop in regularly.
