Default 34-1 need Hammer help

I have tryed to do some research but come up with no answers.Recently acpuired a S&W 34-1 Revolver j- frame ser #M2052xx with 4 inch barrel and spuare but.I believe it was made around 1982[not sure maybe some one knows a closer date of mfg]. Its not fancy but shooter grade I am looking for a HAMMER[ somebody cut of hammer to carry and removed back site blade].The question i got ,do all 34-1 hammers regardles of age fit my revolver? Were can i find a Hammer and rear sight blade.Apreacheate all input and help. Thanks in advance . Greg

Is the entire rear sight assembly removed? Just curious, as it will not apply to the hammer, but does it have a pinned barrel? The deletion of the barrel pin was not an engineering change as in most S&W's.

There were different hammers as the hammer spring shaft had either a fork or a ball at the top. Hopefully someone will chime in on when the change occured.

Also, the gun may have been dropped, breaking off the hammer spur and damaging the rear sight.

I thought I might have a hammer for you but all my J frame hammers are for center fire guns

Thanks .M prefix barrel is not pinned Revolver around 1982 The Hammer was cut of with the purpose of carring in pocket. Only the blade is missing on rear sight. Screw nut e.t.c is there. My understanding is there is old style and new style. Just took it apart mine has a fork onthe top were it engages the hammer

Thanks just lokated a hammer and ordered it. On to finding a rear sight slide .Can anyone school me on if all model43 will fit any jear
