Default Model 60-4 Value

I found a Model 60-4 today and was wondering what value members would place on the gun. It has been fired, but is in very good to excellent condition, save being dirty. Just the gun without the box and "rubber" boot grips. I have another one and I know that they came with Uncle Mikes full size (not boot) grips.) It has an extremely smooth trigger pull and the single action is almost a hair trigger.

I bought my 60-4 about six or seven years ago and paid $750 for it as it was, at that time, only the second one I had ever seen.

Just wondering what the market is for these guns now. I will wait to list what the asking price was so as not to influence any opinions.

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

In my neck of the woods I’m seeing asking prices of around $600 for ordinary, pre-lock Model 60s. I’d think the 3” version would rate a 20% premium. But that is just a guess.

My own 60-4 was a pawn shop find about a dozen years ago. It cost me $350. If I had to replace it I’d expect to have to spend at least $600 to replace it, after haggling.

I track the models when I see them. Occasionally I see one
offered with a crazy price tag, but unfortunately I don't believe
they've appreciated that much since you bought yours, WCCPHD,
especially with no box and the wrong grips.

This may be a little too convoluted to help much but a year or so ago I traded one (no box/papers) even for a 6 inch nickel 19-5 also no box. I suppose a 19-5 in nice condition would be $700-$900 where I shop.

Last year I paid $650 for mine in great condition with box/papers/extra target stocks. First time I've ever had to haggle UP as the seller and I have a good relationship and after much research I thought that was a fair price.

Holster is a Bianchi 5BH that fits nicely.

They are nice guns, you should get one in good condition around $600-900.

This estimate should cover everything from a well loved example, dirty and somewhat beat up, to an ANIB example. I wouldn’t want to pay much over $700 for the one the OP describes unless the seller could scare up the box and dox and the tool package along with the original grips. Local market conditions will probably vary.

That’s how I feel about mine, but I value it at infinite rather than zero value!

I bought my original 60-4 in ‘91 when they came out. I picked up another about 5 years ago for 500ish just in case. In case of what exactly I’m not sure, but just in case. It’s in nicer shape than my original one. There are a lot of canoeing miles on that gun.
I just watched one on GB a couple of weeks ago, it went for 670 or so.

I was never lucky enough to get a 60-4, but had to do with the 36-6 and the 36-1 Target.

Mine came to me about 5-6 years ago as best I recall. It was as new with the original rubber grips. I got rid of those ASAP, and since it had no box, dox, or tools, I outfitted it with a custom box (photo on left) inspired by one I saw at the NRA museum (photo on right). I can’t remember just what I paid for mine, but it was a “friends and family” deal, and since I never intend to sell it, the price is immaterial.

Throwing in a 60-1 for just kicks and giggles.
