Default Mountain Backpacker Get New Stocks

My 629-5 now wears Kim Ahrends finger grove stocks, thanks to 35. They fit my hand much better than any thing else. Some Uncle Mike's, or others, might help with the intense recoil of full blown 44 magnum rounds but I don't intend to run much of that through this one, but of course I will try some out just for fun. It will be relegated to high quality 44 specials.

You might find out 44mag rounds aren’t that bad. I only shoot Winchester white box 240 JSP thru my 3” 629. Recoil is not a big deal.

OK. I'll say Yea, right. Maybe for you. For a while I had a 629-5 Defensive (PC, 2 5/8"). I thought it was pretty hard to handle, even with Hogue's. Maybe I've just become a wimp in my old age. I'll see how this one handles on my next range trip. Full report forthcoming.

Nice looking piece, W4! I’ve got a 3” 629 and it gets healthy 44 Specials an “midrange” 44 magnums only.

ETA - on the right.
