Default PC 500 Mag

I've been mulling things over about a red dot sight for the 500 but I need a recommendation from someone who has used a RDS of a 500.

I tried that once and it was a disaster. Manufacturer said the sight would take 12 ga magnums.

Maybe but if so, the recoil impulse of the 500 must be the killer. I shot 4 rounds of medium heavy loads and that simply destroyed the sight. The eyepiece lens was turned way over 45 degrees. Saying it was trashed was a monumental understatement. Don

I spoke with Trijicon and Leupold recently and they said that my RMR Type2 3.25 and my DPP with the red Delta, would be just fine with any firearm, including my 3.5" 460 and my No.1H in 458.
They said we guarantee them to hold up.
I know Leupold stands behind their guarantee, so I'll use the DPP with those Hornady 200gr FTX rounds.

Both held up to medium loads as mounted in the old pic below.
Will make a proper/longer mount now that I have parallels for the mill's vise.

Read that Leupold is not making any handgun scopes now.

Thanks, I'll look at Trijicon.

Our firearms tastes are similar, me with a couple powerful big bore revolvers and my "I'll never sell it" a Ruger No. 1 in .458 Win mag. Don

There might be other options and would recommend asking
RuggyH about what he uses.
I have a 2.5-8x32mm Leupold that's currently on the 8.38" 460.
