Default New to me 66-2 snub

Found this fine 1982 example local to me, brought it home Saturday, hopefully get to the range next weekend. The timing is perfect and the lockup the best of any S&W I’ve ever bought, new or used, like the proverbial bank vault.

I'm envious! To me the model 66 2.5 inch bbl is the best looking revolver ever made.

Thanks folks. The grips have a couple chips probably from getting banged by hitting a drawer or glovebox but I have a set of age appropriate replacements headed my way. With the minimal wear I’m guessing it didn’t see many rounds at all.

I carried one for a few years and shot it regularly. It was a surprise to me that I could shoot that short barreled S&W model 66 with 2 1/2 inch barrel revolver, nearly as well as my 4"!

Owning one I can see why they’re so popular.

This one belonged to my dad and has an exceptional action on it. My brother told me our dad had a factory trained armorer do the trigger job.As a bonus I have the original grips and box too with all the literature but would never part with it.

That's a nice 1 for sure! My 66-2 is not as sharp, but functions great! Bob

I actually shoot mine better than my 4", probably because I've shot it more. Definitely my favorite handgun.
