Ladysmith 65-6 bargain find!
Here's my "new to me" model 65-6 I stumbled
across on GB for a "buy me" price of $500 bucks! I have no idea why it was listed like that. But the good Lord led me right to it at the right time, and it just arrived yesterday at my LGS for transfer. I'm all in at $585 bucks.
The trigger was seriously stiff before I put a Wolf 12lb trigger return spring in it and a Wolf reduced power ribbed mainspring a bit ago. I was able to shoot about 25 rounds through it out back before the rain came rolling back in.
Every one went "bang" and I hit what I was aiming at with the 158 gr. JHP reloads I carried out with me.
I'm extremely happy with this little darling six shooter, and will be packing it around in short order. After I can run a few more rounds through it.

Very, very nice! I got my best half the little sister model 60 Lady Smith a few months ago for 50th anniversary present for putting up with me for that long, and she loves it-looks just like yours but is a 5 shooter. You have a fine weapon there. You did well!

Definitely a great bargain. I paid $750 for this one a few years ago.

“ Very nice” from me, too. Dang great buy, IMO. I just mentioned to another member local to me that
I’m trying to quit but his recent purchase, I would have bought, too. Now, you show (me) us this beauty!
Thanks for sharing, Jeff T.

As far as I know they are factory laminated combats that came on it. I really like the looks of the smooth RB targets on "sprscientist's" Ladysmith, but these are comfortable. I just don't think they will conceal as well.
Either way I'm not complaining!

Altamont supplied them to S&W. They are available as an aftermarket item.

Great find at a great price. I’ve never seen a 65 with the serial number on frame below the cylinder window. I thought that was like a model 64 NY thing.

I've posted this before...
That was done around 1996-7, when S&W was experimenting with laser engraving of the markings and serial numbers. Most of the markings are so faint, you can barely feel them with a fingernail. I like to think of this as the quantity vs quality method! I'm pretty sure the ATF later ruled that the markings need to be at least .003" deep.
I've got a Model 60-10 marked the same way.
Bare butt!
Frame and grip frame...
Yoke cut...
Faint address and barrel markings...
Assembly # and possible date? These are the only deep markings.

The Model 65 Ladysmith is a fine revolver. Here is a picture of my three Ladysmith's.

Beautiful Lady, and the Sticky Holster is one of my favorite carry methods. It never moves and is very un-noticeable in everyday carry.

Kraynky…….thanks, I promised Jean several years ago that I would get her a LS so I finally Got the promise honored. Yes, the STICKY is a good product….simple and it works. I use one for pocket carry with a 637. Jean puts her Lady in a Sticky and then carry's the whole thing inside a Fanny Bag.

I agree with Bill In Texas and others,
I love my two model 65’s (-5 LS & -3) plus congrats to kraynky on his bargain find. And if sprscientist ever decides to sell those RB target grips, I’ve got first dibs.
ETA:
I have $700 in the pair but had them quite a while.

Steal of a price on a great gun! In my neck of the woods, worn out old cop model 10’s can scarcely be found for $400

My wife has one and she wouldn't sell it for anywhere near that price. Good Score!
