Default New unfired 351c revolver rough rachet opinion

Just bought a new 351c. Timing of the cylinder checks out fine but the rachet looks like its chewed up. I plan on contacting S&W.

Looking for opinions. Is this an issue or am I being too picky and should just shoot it until a problem shows up if ever.

I am pretty sure this was done by the factory intentionally. I have seen other 351c's on Youtube reviews and the racket teeth look untouched, but one well know reviewer said he had two chambers out of time and he had a clean looking rachet.

It had some small burrs that I removed gently.

If it works don't fix it???

It does look concerning. I’d offer to send them a picture for comment, but my guess is they will just tell you to send it back. I’ve never found them to be much interested in my attempts to help them understand/diagnose a problem.

That's not even close to right. Contact S&W customer service and send that pic to them.
