627-5 Handling Marks...

I picked this pistol up today for a decent amount of money and noticed these handling marks right away. This was a sale with a trusted gentleman and i Did not even examine the revolver i told the gentleman to put it in my car and gave him his cash. About 2 minutes later I returned home to see these photos..... the gentleman is a friend of mine and he claimed to "not know how the marks got on the pistol"..... He is offering to take back the revolver and give me my money back.......
thoughts on what i should do???? get it re-finished? get my $1000 back???

Keep it and learn to examine something before you buy it. If you carry it and use it those marks make no difference

Getting your money back for this one was probably a smart move. Not only is the finish flaking, the front sight looks marred, and even the address stamping on the right side of the frame looks very rough. There are plenty of these PC 627-5s coming up for sale periodically, so if it's a revolver that you really want you should be able to find a nicer one. Here's mine (ca. 2010) that I picked up at a local gun store a few years ago for under $700 including original box, Crimson Trace laser stocks, and Backwoods leather holster. It's one of my favorite traveling guns for both the SUV and H-D. Good hunting!

I had a 2.6” 627-5 for a while; they’re nice looking guns. Since the bead blast finish is easily marred and my cylinder showed significant holster wear early on, I had H&M black nitride it.
