When Was My 686+ Made? Need Help With Serial Number
I bought a used, darn near mint looking S&W 686+ a few years ago and I am hoping that someone here can help me figure out when it was made? It shoots great and the trigger is fantastic. The serial number is CSJ1***.

If you have the original box with end label we can give you its age pretty precisely, but the spring of 2004 is an approximation.

Thank you!!! Unfortunately, the LGS I bought it from did not have the box. The revolver was on consignment. I bought it for $850 out the door. In California a couple years ago no LGS in my area had even seen one in two years, and that was a great deal. Someone else came in to buy it when I was doing the purchase paperwork. We don't see the $600-$800 used S&W revolvers in my neck of the woods like other forum members seem to come across. Thanks again for your help.

As a native ex-Californian, I feel your pain.

An e-mail to S&W with your serial number will get you a shipping date, typically they respond within 2-3 business days.
Please update this thread if you do!
