I'm having a problem finding a suitable holster for this gun. Local shops don't stock a lot of leather revolver holsters. I want a holster for a 3" not 4" and something that covers length of barrel not a 2". Any ideas?

Sounds like you'll have to get a custom holster. Selection at my local gun stores can be somewhat lacking too.

You will probably have to bite the bullet and get a handmade holster. Kramers are very good. They cost more than name brand holsters, but not that much more and they are way better.

+1 for a Kramer, I've got one for my M327. Call Lobo too, he's on here a lot. He might have one already made up.

Bianchi makes an AccuMold Paddle Holster for a 3inch M66; check out their website. Alternatively, I have one in near new condition that I may be willing to part with; email me if interested. I can send pics when my wife gets home with the camera

You might want to check with J&G Sales, they occasionally advertise on e-bay and Gunbroker. Bought a real nice Gould & Goodrich OWB from them for my 3" 66. I think I paid maybe twenty bucks for it. If I remember right they had a fair quantity of these holsters.

Alright Mack!
You came here to personally torture the critter in the cage, right?
You've been added to my official "I hate you list", due to having gotten one of the three or four guns I've ever wanted!

I bought one marked for 3" K frame at a gunshow only a week ago. Bought it for my 66-3. Got home and couldnt get the gun all the way in it! However it fits some other stuff I have fairly good. My old M&p fit, but barrel hung out. Must be the thicker ejector rod houseing thats different. I do have a old 4" pancake I been carrying it in, but of course its a tad longer then needed, but really not a issue.

Well, thanks to everyone for all responses/comments. I'd prefer a leather holster. I've got a bucket full of holsters that "sorta fit" because I didn't bring the guns along to fit them. When I get home from work I'll research some of the ideas suggested. I've since put some of those Dajiim? grips off e bay on it if anybody wants a look I'll pic the gun tonight.

Thanks, Mack

ROBERTSON'S TRADING POST IS WHERE I GOT MINE. THEY STILL HAVE THEM IN STOCK. MINE IS A LEATHER PADDLE. REALLY NICE. IT WAS FOR 3" K FRAME FIXED SIGHT GUNS. BUT A FEW SPRAYS OF SHOE STRETCH ON IT AND IT FITS LIKE A GLOVE.ABOUT $40 BUCKS. WORTH EVERY PENNY. JIM P

Robertson's is a good source for very reasonably priced holsters. I got an OWB for a 3" K-frame for $20 and it works perfectly. It does, however, have a thumb break as do most of the holsters they had in stock at the time.

Price Western Leather makes a good pancake holster for a 3 inch model 66. I have one, and it fits my 3 inch 66 perfectly. Their website shows the same model available in either 2.5 inches or 3.0 inches.

Lobo Gun Leather is my choice. He has made me four holsters and all were superb. They are very reasonably priced and are made to fit each model.
Give him a try....

Try LoboGunLeather (member here)...Here's one he made for my model 66-2 2.5"

El Paso Saddlery makes a pancake holster called the Street Combat, and you can get one for a 3" K-frame. Shipping is quick and the quality is excellent.

Watch that being just a K frame! As I wrote earlier, I just bought one for my 3" 66-3. It also was marked for a K frame 3". Got home from the gun show and the gun wont begin to go in! Tried my m&p and it was fine, except for a inch barrel hanging out! That heavy barrel and ejector houseing is the problem. I also have one like dave just showed for my 4" stuff, and even though its a inch longer its no big deal. I wouldnt pass up a 4" if I couldnt find a 3" for it.

JcMack would love to see you post those grips on here do you like them? I bought Badgers for my 617-6 10 shoot and love them but after shipping they where $98.00 and got some nice ones from gungrips.com for my 625JM for $72.00 with shipping hope I like them as much as the badgers if not there going on here for sale lol

Another vote for Lobo Gun Leather.

You might email forum member Ray Cory of LoboGun Leather for suggestions and pictures. His work is excellent, priced right and to you in a week or two. [email protected]
