In my quest for a model 65 I found a model 64 3 inch purchased new by owner around 1997.What is the current price for one with box and papers.Any other info would be appreciated.

A good price around here would be $325 to $375 for one that is not a surplus gun. Maybe $400 if it was really nice.

Find me one for $400 and I'd buy it so fast you could hear my hand move to my wallet.
Here they are about $450 in any condition if you can find them at all.

Dave, I just purchased an M65 with a 3" barrel off the forum a few weeks ago. I brought it home today. It has the box, paperwork and original grips. I paid $475 plus shipping. I would imagine an M64 would go for a couple bucks less, being 38 Special. But finding any K-Frame with a 3" barrel is tough around here. As you probably already know. It sounds like the one you found is most likely in pretty good condition. I would say it's worth at least $450 in the current market.
