If you open the cylinder and look at the frame where the yoke fits it should be stamped Mod. 629-X. Someone will be along to tell you the date soon, I'm sure.

I don't have it in-hand yet (long story), so I was hoping the SN would reveal the version/edition so i could do some research while I'm waiting to pick it up.

It is almost certainly a current version, the 629-6. Likely made in the spring of 1999.
