Came across a 627 at the National Guns Show. Had a 5" barrel stamped (not etched) Model of 1989. Red ramp and white outline, non-fluted cylinder, smooth .320 trigger and .400 hammer both forged and flash chromed. Round butt with smooth S&W combat grips. It was fired with blackened front of cylinder but otherwise in near new condition. Well taken care of. Very nice action with perfect timing. Comes with box, paper and tools. What is the fair market value of this gun?

Fair market or what are they going for? I see them selling for $800-$1,000, not sure why but if you really want one I guess that is the going rate.

They have a good balance and feel. I have never shot mine and at one time was going to have another cylinder chambered for 44/357 Bain & Davis but after some thought changed my mine since a longer barrel is required to get the full performance.

How was the show? I had planned to go but just had too many things to do.

This is a pet model for me so I watch for them all the time. I have to presume here that you saw and are asking about 627-0, which is the more common variation. Some will be found in the 800-1000 dollar range and do turn over at that price in NIB or ANIB condition. But they sell in the 650-750 range, sometimes less, there are nearly 5000 of them out there. Especially if you desire a shooter. Now if you saw a 627-1 or a 627 no dash, that would be a harder variation to find and you do not want it, you want to let me know immediately so I can buy it.
