Default Question on 686

My neighbor`s son just bought a used 686 6inch. The model is 686 with no edition code. It has black frt. and rear sights with a reverse partridge on the front. From my readings here, is there a recall or something similar on the 1st model ? Thanks, john

No dash and dash ones had recalls that are still active. Call Smith and they will send shipping label and correct the problems for FREE

Look under the crane where the model and serial number are - if ther is an "M" stamped there, it has already had the recall.

The recall resulted from primer flow into the FP bushing tying up the gun. This occurred most often with hot full magnum rounds.

Adios,

Pizza Bob
