Don't think they made a 2 1/2 inch barrel. I haven't looked in the book to make sure. Here is a new toy I just put together .

My 686 ICORE revolver. Started as one of the limited "stocking dealer" 5 inch half lugs. I had it cut for moons and put a 7 pound DA pull on it and went shooting. The HiViz and V notch looked great in the shop, but I never could get used to them on the range. Second year I swapped them out for an SDM fiber optic front and a factory WO rear, and that's how she sits today.

Hello .357 Magnum,
congraulations to your guns (and the set up) !
I owned a 686 2,5" bbl. years ago and found it extremely accurate and easy to carry.
At he moment there is a "Security Special" with a three inch tube at my left hip, I carry in a "Bianchi 111" .
I have my stainless guns mirror polishedwith black combat front sights and grips made by Nill. These are not really necessary but - all in all - make the gun fitting to my hand in a nearly perfect manner.
Best regards
Wisent

I notice some beautiful grips. I have a mint condition model 28 and would like to fit some Rosewood grips on it with the S&W medallion. I've been looking around and would like some recomendation.

Hi .357 Magnum,
I am so sorry but I do not have a webcam to make photos - as soon as I have got one, I'll do my very best.
My 696 with dark rosewood combats is the best looking wheelgun I ever had.
But I have to admit - for technical reasons I wpuld very much prefer the carbon steel guns, like the "Classic Line" from S&W.
If I could have a 586 three incher in mint condition here in Germany, ... I but dream....
Best regards
Wisent

Hi Wisent,
Lucky you as I wish I owned a 696!!! I don't know why they aren't making them any longer as it is a gorgeous gun. Post some photos someday when you can.
Take care!!

Lets see 'em guys.

Three L Frame Beauties
Here are my three L frames. The first, as 686 in factory black, is unmodified except for the Spegel Extended Boot grips and PC Master Action job. The other two are PC 586 L-Comps, one in 3" (I have two identical I use for carry) and one in 4" which I shoot in IDPA competition. All of them wear Spegel Extended Boot grips.
