I would like to change out the orange ramp sight to either a gold bead or a fiber optic. Smith and Wesson website lists two heights .250 and .300 Which one should I get.

0.250 is the one you want. The nominal height of the standard ramp is 0.230(according to Smith)but they will vary by minute amounts or....maybe a little less, maybe a little more!

Remember the taller the front sight the lower the gun will shoot. I prefer a hold over sight picture so I replace the front sights on my revolvers with a taller one... .300 This gives me a nice hold over sight picture with the rear sight as low as it will go. If I then choose to hold the gun for a six o’clock sight picture I can just raise the rear sight. It works for me. The sight picture is very personal thing. First check the height of your front sight. They can vary. Then shoot the gun and check point of aim. And then decide on the sight picture you like best. Six o’clock, hold over etc. Do a little research before you change it. This could save you a few bucks. Good Luck Good Shooting
