About three years ago I received an S&W Model 29 (the .44 Mag 50th anniversary commemorative) and it does not have the "MADE IN USA/MARCAS REGISTRADAS/SMITH & WESSON/ SPRINGFIELD, MASS" stamp on the left side of the frame. I know this model is supposed to have this stamp because I have seen it on all other commemorative 29s. About 8 months ago a purchased an S&W model 22-4 (the Thunder Ranch addition) and that one had the "Marcas Registtrada" stamp but did not have the large S&W logo on the left side behind the cylinder. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is a common occurrence because it seems very odd to me that this would happen to me twice in three years. Does anyone else have a S&W without one of the normal stamps?

No, and as far as I can tell all M22s (like all S&W revolvers) have it on the side opposite the cylinder release.
Mine vary:
Left side logos: 10-8, 19-5, 36-0, 617-6, 686-6
Right side logos: 10-5, 28-2, 21-4
Left/right as when held in shooting position (when not shooting self)
My M22 does not have the logo on either side. I have seen pictures of other M22s and the logo is on the right side. I wonder if when this gun was being made, it somehow skipped a step in the assembly line.
