Bought this 696 no-dash 2 weeks ago at a local gun show. Bought a CA BulldogPug 44 Special, two years ago, while very accurate, the quality is just not there. So have been looking for a Taurus or a Rossi 44 special to replace the pug for a carry gun.Came upon this Smith and while looking it over,a fellow behind me said it was a good deal.Said he owns one and they are fun to shoot. Well after walking the show and seeing nothing else of interest,I went back and managed to get the seller to drop $50 off the price, seeing the grips were not factory and there was no box.So walked out the door with a new revolver for $550,feeling I did OK.This is the same way,I found my favorite daily carry gun,a S&W model 940. Blind luck! It came with the original adjustable rear sight. I installed the Cylinder&Slide Extreme Duty fixed rear sight.

Agreed, you stole that bad boy. These are going for $800-$900 on GB. What a deal!

Excellent good fortune. Congratulations!

Looks like a replacement rear sight. C&S? I like those.

Congratulations! You got a nice one at a great price! I love that rear sight and the grips. I bought the only one I have ever seen for sale two years ago at a pawn shop. It's a No-Dash also.
