Default Model 647 question

Years ago I read about revolvers in .17 HRM stretching cases in the chamber and binding up the
cylinder. I have searched latley and have found nothing. I have 2 rifle in this caliber and would love a 647, but only to shoot. If it is not good combination I don't want to spend the money for a 647. Any input.
Thanks Sonny
