Now I know why I can't get a Model 49. You folks have all of them. I still am in the market for one, for the right price.
I have two snubbies (neither a S & W). You all have seen pix of Ruger LCR's, so I won't bore you with that. I recently got a Dan Wesson 14-2, 2 1/2" bbl, .357 magnum. It's a Palmer manufacture. I think it's heavier than my wife wants to carry tho'.
Here's a picture of the DW. I was intrigued by the strange (to me) cylinder release, and the clockwise rotation.

Yep, I have three. One Smith, one Colt, and one Rossi. Well, the Rossi is the one my wife packs.
I am going to get another Smith after Christmas.

Smith & Wesson 438-0 Bodyguard
This J frame is new for 2010 and has become my favorite EDC. I love the Bodyguards and J frames in general, but this one has become my travelling partner.

I love my snubbies! I have owned a K Frame and loved it, but for conceal carry, I love my snub nose. I carry a S&W M60 Pro Series, .357 mag, with wood grips. Sweetest revolver I have ever put in my hand. I also have a Taurus 650, 2 inch, and just bought my wife a Ruger LCR with Crimson Trace Laser Grips.

Special Edition 342M&P
Here's my addition this this great post. This is a special edition model#342 M&P.
This is identical to the 340M&P except configured only for the .38 special +P ammo. The cylinder is stainless steel. This was made in a very limited number primarily for LAPD which does not smile on .357 ammo. What a shame...
Comes with Trijicon night sights, a trigger job from the factory, and shoots sweet as pie. I love this weapon!

What a beauty! I rejected the .357 magnum model because of recoil, but I'd for-sure carry it in 38 special. I have a thing about shooting only 38 special from a .357 magnum cylinder.

According to the letter, it was sent from the S&W factory directly to Jovino, a well known gunsmith shop in New York, in 1985
It started life with a 6" barrel and was converted to 3" by Jovino. While there it recieved some trigger work and was stamped "EFFECTOR".
I was told that they were called EFFECTOR's because the barrel was cut down the maximum length to still have the ejector rod work "EFFECT"ivly.

Cool holster -- what brand? Sorry not trying to hijack the thread, just very intrigued by that holster. Like how high it rides above the belt.
Thanks!

Ah, I see. That was the first thought that came to mind, that it was a name stamped by a 'smith for a custom job...cool name for CM though. Very nice collection, by the way! I hope to have something nearly that nice amassed as I get older and more and more into the good ol' Smiths Thanks for sharing...

Yeah, I have a sick weakness for these weapons also. My wife thinks I "lost it" when I traded a "like new" Glock 27 w/trijicon night sights for a mint "no dash" 649 at the last gun show. Straight up. Now I have my eye on an older Model 36 and a 50's vintage Colt DS at a local shop. The Colt, of course is overpriced.
