Question J frame 2-finger covered-backstrap grips?

Howdy all,

I'm contemplating buying some fancy wood grips for my 638-3. I need something concealable for pocket carry, but I'd prefer grips that covers the backstrap to increase the length of pull. Most of the covered-backstrap grips I've seen increase the grip length for a 3-finger hold, which doesn't work for me for pocket carry. OTOH most 2-finger boot grips leave the backstrap exposed.

Does anyone offer the grips I want? Pictures welcome.

Thanks!

Crimson Trace makes an excellent boot-style grip with cushioning over the backstrap that sounds like it would fit your needs (if you're amenable to a laser grip - I think they're indispensable).

I don't recall the model, but you should have no problem locating on CT's web site.

That's the one I was thinking of as well. Not aware of any boot style grips made in wood (or rubber for that matter) that cover the backstrap.
Here's a link to the Crimson Trace Model 405

Chris You can cut down a set of Uncle Mikes Combat Grips to boot grips & Might be able to get Craig Spegel to make you a set up like that??
I have a cut down set of The UMs in my stash that I could send you absolutely FREE to Try & Keep..
If they work for you then you might be able to get Craig to make you a pair..
Here's a pic of the grips, The ones in the middle..
It's the best Idea I could come up with & there just sitting waiting to be used anyway, They will fit any J Frame Round Butt S&W..

The LG405s would work & give you the laser option but they aren't wood..
I've never tried a set of them but the way they have covered backstrap half way up is very interesting indeed..

carguychris the Combat/Boot grips will ship today & I'll throw in another cable lock for you, should take the same key as the other one, Hopefully you'll like the trigger reach & if you do you can get Mr. Spegel to replicate you a set in wood..
I've been helped so many times on this forum by others that It's like Karma to give back just a little..
Thank You!!
Gary aka Headknocker

BTW CDNN has a wood set of Sile grips that aren't boot style but very short that may work well for pocket carry & only $15
Here's the Link..
