The VSP Troopers did not carry the commemoratives - policy mandated only "issued" firearms carried on-duty, which were S&W mod. 64, 4" in 1982. You were permitted to put on oversize S&W target-grips, or grip adapters. Some troopers might have kept their Colt Official Police 4", but most of those were replaced w/mod. 64's. I think we paid well under $300. for the 50th Anniv. mod. 66. (I see the "NC" badge is much nicer done on their commem. than the VSP badge.)
