Model 327

I can tell you that you need big pockets to carry one of these in you pocket! Too short and fat for an IWB. They kick with magnum loads, but it's much more tolerable than the 340PD. 8 shots, light weight, moon clips (or not), nice trigger, kinda silly but I like it! It's a great coat gun.

What can anyone tell me about the 327 Model in the following link?
Product: Model 327 Revolver
I am thinking to purchase it.

I shoot the 327JM version with the same barrel sysytem except for a 5 inch barrel and unfluted cylinder. I shoot in with light loads in steel matches and would not be able to tolerate the recoil with full power loads. As a plus it does come back on target somewhat faster than my 5 inch 627.

It looks as cool as all heck, though!

Nice - Eagle Grips, right? I've got one of those on the way - should show up sometime next week. Got a ton of N frame grips laying around - was going to try the Eagle Grips, the JM grips, and a handful of others. Those look really great.

:)

Mine sees allot of pocket carry. Pockets don't have to be as big as some would say. I bobbed the hammer and carry it in a Concealed Carry Clothiers pocket pouch with no problems. They are very accurate and easy to shoot. You'll love having 8 rounds of protection or plinking fun.

Thanks

Thank all of you for your responses. I really like the gun. I plan to carry it with 38+P for personal protection in cold weather and with 357 Mags hard cast while hunting in the Adirondacks for bear protection.

The 327 Carry is a great little piece. I have had mine for two or three years now. It fits fine in an cargo pocket or jacket pocket. It is one of 3 different model 327s that I own. The other two are a Night Guard and one of the 5" JM models.

Even though Scandium is light, there is so much of it in an N-frame that the revolver has sufficient weight for shooting any cartridge.

It is a Performance Center offering so it has the match grade barrel. It is just hard to keep on target for tight little groups with the 3" sight radius.

I love the concept.

I genuinely hate to burst your bubble, but with a 2" barrel you will NOT have .357 Magnum ballistics. You had better chronograph your favorite .357 load in that revolver before you decide to use it to repel bears...

A full size .357 magnum (4"-6") is probably marginal with black bear and I would not consider a 2" barrel for the purpose, just for ballistic reasons.

A much better choice for that purpose would be a four inch heavily loaded .44 Special, a heavy loaded 4" .45 Colt, or a 4" .44 Magnum. I have taken black bear and I have a great deal of respect for them. They aren't grizzlies but they can get VERY big and on occasion can be a "BEAR" (pun intended). I have been in on the autopsies of probably over 35 bear. They are constructed EXTREMELY well. You have to "break things" to stop them. This SCREAMS for heavy, large diameter bullets.

I have done a LOT of back packing in bear country and had them within four feet AT NIGHT. I sure as heck do NOT want a snubbie of any kind for bear protection under those circumstances.

Just my opinion, of course.
