Grips....are these S&W factory grips
So...I picked these up at a local gun show today
Obviously they both have the S&W emblems
But are they actually smith issued?
If so.....what from?
Thanks in Advance

Your grips are attractive and well done but they are not genuine S&W grips. They appear to be grips produced in Taiwan that by various makers.

I think it's Thailand, not Taiwan.
I have a similar pair that look like the Combats.

Good day, I recently purchased wood grips with the rear not exposing the metal framing. This gives a better grip more conformable for longer fingers and prefer the look.

The one pair are Altamont boot grips. Not sure about the other pair, but I've never seen a pair of Arhends with the S&W medallions. They're probably out of the far east. You'd pay about $65.00 retail for the Altamonts from the manfacturer. Not sure what the other pair retails for.

The large pair look like Thailand grips because of the soft brass hardware. Definitely not Ahrends.

The Thia grips like those without medallions will run about $45 delivered. The medallions add about $15. They come both ways. With checkering and designs also. Delivery is 2 to 3 weeks. At least that's how mine were a few months ago.
They're sold on eBay in a buy-it-now type deal. You don't have to bid against other buyers. Lots of pictures and you buy the actual grip shown. So you can select the shade and figuring that suits your tastes. The variety is pretty amazing.

The boot grips are, IMO, Altamont knock-offs from Thailand. Genuine Altamonts would fit the frame like a glove, and display a very high quality finish. But those are still decent and the price was right

It's very easy to tell by looking at the inside of the grips.

A year or so ago I bought a set of Dan Eagle grips for my 686. You could get them with or without the S&W insignia. Either in the wood or with a silver insert. They are not on the sight anymore, but the Altamont sight has them minus the silver insert. I was told Altamont makes the grips for S&W. they may have made them for Dan Eagle too. The ones on the right look like Altamont.
