I am new to older used revolvers. I have a thing for Smith's, that is the good part.

I picked up a Victory Lend Lease that had pre 68 Diamond Target Grips on it. I was going to replace them with "correct" grips.
At the SWCA show at the Smith Center I picked up a bunch of grips, both smooth and checkered. None of them have the little metal inserts to hold the screw, a couple have the metal insert on the left grip where the screw goes through but most have nothing.

What do I need to have or get to use the grips? I noticed "escutheon screws" at Brownells and Midway, is that what I need?
I put the target grip on another Victory I have and put the Victory grips on the Lend Lease. I noticed there were two different screw lengths.

Do they still make the metal parts for the screws to hold the grips on?

In the shots below I can see a metal thing in the hole with the screw, What what a technical description!

Escutcheon screw is what you want. The "metal thing" is the escutcheon. One is drilled for the screw shank, the other is threaded for the screw and acts as the nut. There is no guarantee that the new escutcheons will fit the holes in your grips so some modifications might be needed such as redrilling the stock hole if the escutcheons are too large or epoxy bedding them if the holes are to big.
